Update on "YouTube Experiment" Post

This is an update of a post I did in October 2007. I
mentioned that I put up a test video in "response" to
one of the videos that made it on the "Most Watched"
page on YouTube.
I reported in November that I was only getting about 1,400 page views at the end of the month. Well guess what? I just checked recently and I know have over 152,000 views!! And I even got the "honor" of being the "#63 Most Favorite video" of ALL TIME!! haha. Additionally, I now have over 160 subscribers who will get my videos anytime I post them.

Create Your Own Branded Software Every Month!
This is my first post for 2008. I know, I know I've
been very very busy since taking so much time off last
year to be with my son JD. He's 7 months old now! I
created his own YouTube channel so that he can see
his whole life on video when he is older! I am
very proud of my young son as you can tell. :)
Speaking of young rising stars, I have to tell you about these two internet Marketing Wizards I just came across recently. I was so impressed with them that I had to make a quick post about their latest project called IMBuzzSoftware. These guys have already made 5 figure incomes and get this.....they are students!!
I was so impressed with the re-brandable software viral membership site that I contacted them to learn more about their plans. After exchanging a few emails I said "hey, let's meet up". And then he dropped the shocker on me, he says "I'm a full-time student with exams coming so I might not have the time"! I was stunned. Mark my words and watch out for these guys. They are Calvin Woon and Jonathan Teng. I attached a picture of them below.
So why do I like their product? Its very creative and its VIRAL! They have created a system for you to create your own software with your own brand and affiliate links. Its all push-button that makes it very easy. Now with this system, they can keep releasing new useful software each month and allowing you to re-brand these tools. This is extremely useful whether you want to build a list, get traffic or make money from affiliate sales. Very ingenious.

New Things for the New Year

Sorry I have not posted for a while. I've been off
enjoying the year end festivities! I want to wish all
readers a blessed Christmas and an awesome New Year!!
First off, I just want to let you know that I have gone balistic with my new year resolutions. Among them, I plan to do some great things with this blog so I will be changing hosting providers and upgrading to a WordPress Blog so that I can blog from my iPod Touch when I am on the road too.

You Tube Traffic Experiment: Update

Ok so here's an update on the YouTube Traffic

By tagging on to a wave of iPod Touch reviews, I did one of my own. Amazingly and easily, the video got over 1,400 views in less than a week. However, when I checked my statistics, there were only 7 links into my blog from this video. Granted, my links are not apparent on the video and it was never intended to be a marketing video. Here are the lessons I learned from this experiment:
1. you can get page views from making similar videos to the top videos on YouTube
2. if you want to get traffic to your site, placed the resources as a blog post and put it in your video description
3. the video needs to be directly relevant to your website in order to get serious traffic to your site.

SnapShots Feedback

On October 6th, 2007, I added Snapshots to my blog that
allows users to preview all links on my website without
having to click on them.
However, the feedback from my blog visitors were overwhelmingly negative. Despite being able to preview the links, they found the pop-ups to be extremely distracting rather than useful. So as of today, I have officially removed SnapShots from my site.
I still think that it is a cool tool but its use is probably better suited for an eCommerce type website rather than a blog. Leave a comment to let me know what you think.

Really Simple CMS

I recently discovered a very interesting Web 2.0 service called "Texty". So this is what it does, you can create a block of rich content that includes links, formatted text, images and even html layers on Texty. Once created, you will be given a piece of javascript code to paste on ANY website you want. This can be on your blog, website, or social network site that allows javacript code. You can even give this piece of code to affiliates if you want to syndicate your content.
So here's the clever part - anytime you want to update this content, all you have to do is to change it on Texty and ALL the pages that contain the javascript code will be updated accordingly.
What I like most about this script is that you can include a very user friendly in-line comment box on the page and allow your readers to subscribe to the comments or updates. I've included a simple sample below so feel free to leave a comment or two.
