One of my main passions in life is in health and wellness.  I know I mostly blog about marketing, tech and personal development topics here and it may surprise some of you to know that I am actually a certified fitness leader with FISAF and I also own my own wellness center in Malaysia.

I’ve been meaning for a long time to set up blog on health and fitness. But somehow it was never on my top priority list. However, I experienced a major breakthrough this year in my health and fitness. That is, I discovered the benefits of high-intensity interval training.

In particular, I adopted a training method called “Tabata training” and found that I dropped 3% in body fat within the first month! Needless to say, I am now completely enthralled by the potential of this form of training and I’ve decided to create a blog about my journey and discoveries on this topic!

If you were wondering why I’ve not been updating this blog for the last two weeks,  its because I was working on my new fitness blog on Tabata training. Its still a work in progress but I’m happy with the progress for now. I will soon be adding my own workout videos to the list of videos on the site.

So, if you’re interested in rapid fat loss and amazingly effective fitness training in just 4 minutes a day, then please come by and check out my new blog here: http://tabataexercise.com

Hi Brian, it is amazing how the universe works, 2 things I planned to work on this weekend was getting traffic to my site and my wellbeing through exercise. I read your Traffic Generation guide , went to search for more information about your blog and found your tabata information. Both exactly what I needed to create balance in my life. Many thanks for the fantastic advice on both counts.

Glad to see we have the same interests. :) Good luck with the health transformation and also getting more traffic to your sites! :)

I have been researching the tabata training method and wanted to get anyones advice on a training regimen. My goal would be to add some muscle definition. I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on certain movements that focused on the upper body (shoulders, pecs, tri/bis, back). Also, do you guys recommend 20 seconds of work to 10 seconds rest with eight sets of that? I read that somewhere but not sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ralph – for adding muscle bulk, you just need to systematically overload the muscle groups that you are targeting. Make sure you have sufficient diet of good quality protein and rest the muscle group you are targeting for at least 2 days between stressing them. Shoulders = presses, pecs = benchpress, tris = pushups or tri extensions, back = pull or pullups). Traditional weight training will suffice to reach your goals as long as you stress the muscle to exhaustion in each workout. For Tabata, I find that it maintains muscle mass but is actually really good for cutting away fat. Sometimes, to “look” better, its not about getting more muscle but rather to cut down on body fat. For this, I recommend a full body Tabata 3-4 times a week. e.g. Burpees, mountain climbers..etc

Your blog looks great,I was wondering if you can give me some tips how to make my blog more appealing to my visitors. Its on health Fitness

There’s only two ways to create a successful blog in my opinion… the first is to build a blog around a long tail keyword that is highly searched with low competition. In my case, I built a blog based on “Tabata Exercise”. The challenge in this model is to find the keywords. I use the Market Samurai software for that purpose.

The second method takes more time and effort. That is, you have to build up great content and engage your readers using social media and lots and lots of free stuff. e.g. free videos, ebooks, tips…etc. You basically need to generate enough goodwill so that your readers will come back and will also share your blog with others. In this case, you just need a small reader base and allow it to grow virally through word of mouth marketing.
