Just a little FYI – Ping.fm can be almost ‘Too much of a good thing’. I’ve had Identi.ca and my main free WordPress.com blog account shut down almost immediately after linking everything up with Ping.fm.

Ironic huh? Developers provide all these auto-cross posting API’s to enable such automation and broadcasting, But if you’re ‘overly prolific’ or ‘spammy’ (whatever that means) you do risk some of the accounts getting bannned.

Hey Brian,

I noticed you had other social media sites on your ping.fm dashboard, such as Xanga and Hi5. How’d you connect those sites to ping.fm? I’m having a hard time adding social media sites outside of the ones already in the “Add Social Network” option.

I am using Ping.fm from last few months, i don’t send emails to Ping.fm instead let the twitterfeed fetch my feed and post to ping.fm.

Now, i am running into few problems:

1. All my posts always be treated as the microblog (set in ping.fm)

2. What about blog posts?

suppose, i want that it should be posted as microblog for twitter and small paragraph blog in posterous or blogger. is it possible?

I didn’t notice any extra tags on my blog posts on my social media sites. I think in Facebook, it specifies the item was posted using Ping.FM. But that’s ok.

Brian,

When I used Ping.fm, it seemed to append their ‘ping.fm’ tag to all of my social media sites i had signup for. Have you had that same issue? Their tag usually has nothing to do with my content as I don’t specialize in social media.
