Some of you may know that I’ve take on the role as the Affiliate Manager for a very big product launch for Bob Proctor. Although I have a lot of experience at being a successful affiliate, this is my first role as an affiliate manager. My job is to help all our affiliates be as successful as possible. And I am taking on this responsibility very very seriously.

A big part of my early success as an affiliate is being in the right place at the right time. Namely, I was fortunate enough to be part of the pre-launch for a few million dollar product launches and I took massive action during this period. This has since made the rest of my journey so much easier.

Just Google any of these names and you will see that they are extremely successful marketers in their own right.

This networking event was organized by the ever brilliant team at MindValley Labs headed by Vishen Lakhiani and Mike Reining.

I really had a great time and it felt really good to meet fellow marketers in person. We hardly had time to eat as there were so many interesting people to talk to.

I did get a strong sense of the word “mastermind” group. With so much common interests and yet diverse range of expertise in the room, we really learned a lot from each other and possibly created the seeds of major collaborations in the not too distant future.

Firstly, let me show you the OLD way, I used to create a profitable Adwords campaign:

The first part of the process is finding the product, writing ads the get good click through rates and creating a landing page. Now the PAINFUL part is testing and optimizing these keywords, ads and landing pages. Often times, you have to be ready to lose quite a bit of money BEFORE finding the profitable combination.

I sometimes spend over $1,000 on each campaign before finding the winners if at all!!! I really HATE it when after all the research and testing and I don’t find the winners at all!!

Now, with this new software, you can quickly and EASILY find highly profitable campaigns by getting the keywords, ads and landing pages BEFORE you even create your own campaign. This is the new model:

Now, creating profitable campaigns for me has never been EASIER. Here’s how I do it step by step.

Step 1:

Go to Clickbank Marketplace and get the “Pitch Page” from the top selling products in each category.

Step 2:

Go to Google’s Free Keyword analyzer and enter the URL of these pitch pages. Google will show you a massive list of PPC keywords that are relevant for these advertisers.

Step 3:

Sign up for PPC Bully here. Its only $49 per month at the moment and you can try it risk free for 60 days at the moment. Once you enter the keywords, just wait for 5-10 days.

Step 4:

Under your PPC Bully reports, see which keywords are profitable!! There will be”$” signs next to the profitable ones. How do we know its profitable? Well, these advertisers would not be spending money on these keywords for more than a week if they are not making them money. Essentially, they have tested the keywords for me and I don’t need to spend my own money testing!!

Step 5:

Create your PROFITABLE Adwords campaign using ONLY the profitable keywords, profitable ads and landing pages. I normally use a review page template and a special online software to create the landing pages quickly with tracking.

Step 6:

Count your commissions rolling into your bank account!

And that’s all there is to it. Enjoy!

This tutorial will you how to add a customized “Adsense for Search” block on your WordPress Blog to add another channel where you can earn income.

What this means is that when someone uses the search box on your Wordpress blog, the results will be a Google search results and has Google Ads on the site. For example if someone searches for “baby” on the blog…

…the result is this..

Notice the results appear within a page in my blog with all the theme and styling elements that is consistent with the site.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Step 1: In your Adsense account, create a new “Adsense for Search”

Step 2: Under “Search Type” select “Only sites I Select” so that the search only returns pages within your blog. Under “Selected Sites”, type the URL of your blog. Leave the rest of the settings and click “Continue”

Step 3: In my case, I want a very discreet appearance so I chose the watermark version of the search box. I also changed the search box length to 20 so that it fits on my blog sidebar. Then, click “continue”.

Step 4: For the search results, I selected “Open results within my own site”, and I specified the exact page to display the result. For example, my son’s blog is at http://jdwong.com/blog and so I want the search results to appear here: http://jdwong.com/blog/search. We’ll be creating this page in the later steps.

Next, I changed the width of the display area to 550 pixels so that it will fit within the content area of my blog and not overflow to the sidebar.

For “Ad Location”, I chose “Top and Bottom” because the width is small and therefore I would prefer for the ads to appear only at the top or bottom.

You can also customize the color and style of the search results. I left them as the default.

Click “continue”.

Step 5: Click the checkbox to agree to the terms and conditions and give your Adsense for Search a name and click “continue”.

Step 6: You are now almost there. Just copy the two blocks of code for the search box and for the search results and head on over to your Wordpress admin panel of your blog.

Step 7: Create a new Page on your blog and call it “Search Results”. Make sure that the permalink address says “http://jdwong.com/blog/search” because this is the URL we specified in Step 4.

Now just paste the “Search Results Code” as the content for this page.

Step 8: Now all you have to do is to add the search box into your blog. I added it to the sidebar with the sidebar widget. Go to your Wordpress “Design” section and select “Widgets”. Add a “Text” widget to the sidebar, and paste the “Search Box Code” in the content area.

And that’s it! Congratulations! You’ve just added a completely customized Google Adsense for Search on your blog and can now earn money by showing relevant Google Ads to your blog visitors.

So to try and create something positive to focus on, I showed a screenshot of my Clickbank account for the week.

I didn’t have a lot of time and ideas for a blog post this week so I thought “why not post it on my blog too”. So here it is…

I started promoting products on Clickbank less than two years ago. I was inspired to do so by Bob Proctor who told me that if you want to earn your annual income as your monthly income, you need to create “Multiple Sources of Income” or “MSIs” as he calls it.

Now for Twitter Users:

Have you ever noticed how when you “follow” certain Twitter users, you will get an immediate reply saying something like “Thanks for following me”. And also, you may find that these users also seem to immediately respond by “following” you too. Do you want to know how to do it too?

Chances are, these user are using a free service from http://www.tweetlater.com

This service allows you to do 3 things:

1. Automatically respond to your followers with a personal message
2. Automatically “follow” your “followers”
3. Submit a Twitter message to be published at a later time

You can also manage multiple Twitter accounts from this site. For example if you have a Twitter Account for yourself and one for your business.

A/B testing is just so important for an affiliate marketer. I must admit, I sometimes run my business based on my gut feel of what the market wants and that is absolutely WRONG.

With Google Optimizer, I now let the market tell me what they like. For example, I’ve set up two landing pages to see which one has better conversion for sales for my PPC campaigns.
I just leave the test to run until the data tells me that one of the landing pages is significantly beating the other. (see screenshot below)

After that, I would toss out the loser and then create a new landing page and run a test again to try and “beat the control” as they say.

You can even test multiple items on your page at once such as the headline, images and call to action. If you are not using A/B testing on your sites yet, give Google Website Optimizer a try.

First, the user has to click on the “play” button for the video to play. People who are new to online video might not even know to how to do that.

Second, at the end of the video, the “related videos” pop up taking your visitor to other sites. In other words, off your site!

So have you ever wanted your embedded YouTube video to automatically play (autoplay) when your page loads? How about turning off the “related video” feature at the end the video?
