700 Clicks and Zero Sales!
Posted on 15. Sep, 2008 by Brian Wong in Internet Marketing
Just wanted to share a post that one of my new Adwords campaigns, despite several tweaks have resulted in over 700 clicks and zero sales so far. Yes, I know – very disappointing (and costly). All indications show that I should just abandon this one and move on. However, I have one more iteration to try before closing the case on this one and moving on with the rest. Will let the statistics tell me if I’m right or not.
Now the reason I posted this is that I don’t often see marketers post “bad news” on their sites. But really its just part of the business. Sometimes, I need to go through 5 bad campaigns before finding a real winner that easily makes up for all the bad test cases and much more.
So if you’ve ever tried and not succeeded in Internet marketing, just know that its quite normal and all the temporary set backs are actually blessing that leads to the ultimate fulfillment of your pre-determined goals. The main question is if you stick around long enough to see the fruits of the experience.
The important thing is that each campaign (good or bad) is a very valuable lesson. The kind of lessons you can’t buy or learn at any school or seminar. I think they call it “experience”.
Ok, back to the drawing board it is then…

Yes, its harder nowadays cos the CPCs are going up and competition is stiffer. But it does work- just requires you to be very systematic.
